Abstract

599,183. Collapsable tubes. RADO, L. Feb. 28, 1946, Nos. 28023/46 (divided out of 599,174) and 27481/47 (divided out of 599,184). [Class 66] A collapsable tube, e.g., made from polyvinyl chloride tubing straight welded across its width at the closed end, and welded to form a neck 3, Fig. 2, at the other has a hole or slit 4 from which paste.&c. can only be extruded by both pressing the tube and bending the neck. In modifications, there is an opening on each side of the neck, and there may be a partition down the midde of the tube so that different pastes &c. may be extruded from either of the two compartments thus formed; there may be a number of parallel necks which may be sinuous, each having an opening; the neck may be flanked by a flap to act as a spreader, and the end of the flap may be fringed to serve as a brush ; the pliable neck 3 may be formed as a cap and nozzle to screw on to the end of a collapsable tube 1, Fig. 7 ; and a cover 11 may protect the pliable neck 3 for transport; a filling opening with an eyelet and screw closure may be provided in the body of the tube.
