Abstract

599,102. Making fastenings. KING. J. T. Sept. 13, 1945, No. 23631. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] In a band clip of the kind comprising a band 1, one end of which has a threaded part 3 of semicircular cross-section and the other end of which has an abutment 4 and a non-threaded portion 6 also of semicircular section, adapted to lie against the part 3, with a nut 10 threaded over the two parts, the whole of the clip except the nut is formed of a single piece of metal, e.g. by die casting. Preferably, the abutment 4 has a passage 5 through which the threaded part 6 passes ; this passage may be arranged by forming ears on the part 4 which are then bent over. In manufacture, the parts are diecast in one operation, the threads on the part 3 are then die-pressed, and the clip bent to circular shape and the nut 10 run on. A washer with ears 12, 13, Fig. 8, may be used under the nut, the ears being bent up against abutment and nut respectively.
