Abstract

598,937. Counting-apparatus; ticketissuing machines. T.I.M. (TICKET-ISSUE MACHINES), Ltd., and FORD, H. F. Sept. 20, 1945, No. 24389. [Classes 106 (i) and 106 (iii)] Counter mechanism comprises a number of counters arranged in a number of groups, each group disposed in a position parallel to the main operating shaft of the machine to which said mechanism is applied and each counter being mounted on a respective supporting element or elements whose ends are detachably mounted in separate supports carried in framework components of the machine. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the invention is applied to a ticket-issuing machine of the type described in Specification 477,685. The counters 2-7 are arranged in groups of three, each of which is mounted on rods 8 (Fig. 3) whose ends are supported in recesses 9 in supporting blocks 10 fixed to the framework. The rods 8 are secured in the blocks 10 by clamping members 11 and screws 12. Each counter is of the form shown in Figs. 4 and 5, having centre portion 18 provided with two holes 19 for the reception of the rods 8. Surrounding the body portion 18 at one end is a ratchet-wheel 20 through which the counter is driven. The wheel 20 is integral with the units ring 25 which drives' by a tens transfer mechanism a tens ring 26 also connected by a tens transfer mechanism to a hundreds ring 27. A spring-pressed roller 22, Fig. 6, co-operates with recesses 21 of the wheel 20 to ensure accurate positioning of said wheel. The counters are actuated in known manner by discs mounted on the main shaft 1 of the machine. Specification 598,939 also is referred to.
