Abstract
The selenium coating in a selenium rectifier or photo-cell is formed by spreading selenium over the base-plate and heating the powder to softening temperature (e.g. 130-140 DEG C.) by heat developed by high-frequency heating currents and pressure is applied in a cold or cool press (for example at 50 DEG C.) to form an even solid layer rapidly. The heating currents may be developed in the base-plate and the selenium powder heated by conduction therefrom.
