597,918. Razors; methods of lathering. DAVIES, J. N. Sept. 10, 1945, No. 23222. [Classes 30 and 131] A razor comprises means whereby a stream of liquid is discharged on to the skin in the path of the razor blade, and means for conveying away or recirculating the liquid or the bulk of the liquid. The liquid stream should be arranged as nearly as possible parallel to the surface of the skin at the point where it meets it. As shown a, a' are the head and handle of a safety razor, the blade b being held in position by a cover c hinged at c<1> and held there by a spring d. Liquid enters the inlet g under pressure, passes through the chamber e<1>, and, on account of the contour of the outer wall i, is deflected across the rectangular orifice j. The liquid flows back the other side of the partition f. The liquids used may be hot or cold and may be water, oil and water, liquid soap or the like.
