Abstract

597,749. Cutting depth indicators. HICKEY, M. M. A. Aug. 24, 1945, No. 21800. [Class 68 (i)] On the boom 12 of a trenching machine D is secured a socket 21 holding a detachable arm 15 consisting of a section 17 sliding within a section 18 and a clamping means 19. On the section 17 is secured by a clamping means 24 a vertical rod 23 which is maintained in contact with a guide wire 13 as the machine traverses the line of cut so that the bottom of the boom is maintained at the required depth irrespective of the surface contours.
