[Class 29] An open-topped refrigerated display case has a rear wall 3 extending higher than the front wall 4, 8, a top wall 5 terminating short of the front wall, and a baffle or curtain wall 22 depending from the top wall in front of a refrigerating coil 19 to a point above the level of the top of the front wall so as to cause spillage of cold air over the top of the front wall and consequent infiltration of outside air into the case, as shown by the arrows. The baffle 22 is adjustable to a lower position in which an upper hook 30 on the baffle engages a fixed projection 31 and its lower edge is below the top edge of the front wall so that a still layer of stratified air is formed above the display space 18 and the circulation of air takes place only within the case. A glass wall 8 forms the upper part of the front wall and baffles 25, 28 direct the air flow over the coils 19. Drains 24, 27 collect moisture condensed on the baffles. The goods are displayed on an adjustable rack 11 and stored in a space 15 accessible through a door 16. A lamp 9 and reflector 10 are provided. With the baffle 22 in the position shown the temperature and humidity are relatively high, e.g., for vegetables ; lowering the baffle decreases both temperature and humidity, e.g., for meats and dairy produce. A drain is provided at the bottom of the case and a mirror 23 is mounted on the front face of the baffle 22. Specification 596,075 is referred to.
