Abstract
596,014. Watch cases. ARNOUX, C. July 13, 1945, No. 17966. [Class 139] A fluid tight watch case comprises a threaded movement case, a packing and a back provided with a projecting rim, assembled together by means of a threaded fixing ring screwed on said movement case. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the movement case 1 is threaded at 4 and has a groove in which rests a packing 6 on which is placed the rim 9 of the back 8. The fixing ring 10 screws on the movement case 1 and presses the rim 9 against the packing so giving a fluidtight joint. The fixing ring 10 is provided with a surface 12 which lies adjacent but not touching the back 8. In another embodiment, not shown, the fixing ring 10 is externally threaded and the movement case is internally threaded. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 5, the movement case 14 has an annular notch 32 into which fits a thin outer back plate 31 which lies above the fixing ring 27 and the back 19. This outer back plate may be soldered on the fixing ring.
