Abstract
595,411. Textile drafting rollers. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. Nov. 13, 1944, No. 22390. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] To prevent reverse rotation of the back bottom roller of drafting mechanism for textile fibres, the back roller wheel which is associated with the gearing of the roller comprises in one construction, an annular member 17, on either side of which are disposed fixed segments 20 which form with the member 17 divergent channels 23 in which balls 19 are arranged to wedge if the wheel tends to rotate in the clockwise direction. The member 17 is formed as a flange on a driving plate 14 which is fixed to the driving shaft 12 and is secured to the wheel proper 10 by a screw 15. The segments 20 are fixed by screws 22 to a plate 21 carried by the bracket 13 which supports the shaft 12. The bracket may be of the kind described in Specification 586,396. In a modification a single segment is disposed in an annular channel formed in the plate 14 and is of tapering width to form with the walls of the-channel a pair of divergent channels in which the balls are arranged.
