Abstract
593,726. Gloves. GOULD, J. H. June 18, 1945, No. 15449. [Class 141] A glove in which there are no side seams is made from two hand blanks and a thumbpiece, the two seams being located at the back of the hand. As shown in Fig. 1a, one blank comprises, in the following order, the back 2 of the first finger, the fronts 3, 4, 5, 6 of all the fingers and the back 7 of the little finger. The second blank, Fig. 1b, comprises the backs 8, 9 of the second and third fingers. The first blank is, folded along the lines 11, 18 and the second blank secured to it so that the seams extend from the inner ends of the backs of the first and little fingers to the end of the back of the glove. An opening 10, preferably of the type described in Specification 504,981, is, provided for the thumb, and gussets are provided between the fingers. The Provisional Specification also describes an arrangement in which the glove, apart from the thumbpiece, is formed from a single piece of material, the seam extending from the inner end of the first finger to the end of the back of the glove.
