Abstract
593,436. Clearers for garden rakes. DALE, H. N. R., and MAXIM ENGINEERING, Ltd. April 4, 1945, No. 8357. [Classes 6 (i) and 6 (ii)] Relates to garden rakes and like implements having tines manually or power-operated, and provides means for clearing the tines by moving a perforated or comb-like clearing plate by means of levers mounted on the handle. A clearer in the form of a narrow bar 1 lies along the face 5 of the rake and has perforations 2 corresponding to the tines 3. The enlargement 6 is welded to the ends 7 and 8 of the longer arm of a bell crank lever pivoted at 32. The other end of the rod 28 is pivotally supported between the lugs 54, 56 and the lever 50 is hand-operable. The spring 38 normally retains the clearer in contact with the face of the rake.
