Abstract
593,259. Scaffold clamps. SCAFFOLDING (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., and RICHARDS, L. S. May 28, 1945, No. 13294. [Class 20(ii)] A scaffold clamp of the type comprising a U-shaped member 10 adapted to embrace a scaffold tube and having its edges recessed at 103, 104 to receive a second tube transversely to the first and a clamping plate 11, pivoted at 105 to a limb 101 of the U-member, having a clamping screw 12 which bears against the second tube when the plate is swung into position across the limbs of the U, has the plate 11 provided with means, such as a lug 112 to engage the outer face of the other limb 102 of the U-member, to prevent lateral displacement of the limbs. In a modification, the plate 11 may be apertured to engage over a peg on the limb 102. Play is provided at the pivot 105 to allow the face end of the plate to be lifted slightly. The plate is preferably of channel section. Specification 578,386 is referred to.
