Abstract
592,892. Jacquards. WALKER (BLACKBURN), Ltd., P., and WALKER, H. D. Dec. 18, 1944, No. 25328. [Class 142 (i)] The griffes of a jacquard are actuated by means of a chain-driven cam D which is so shaped that it causes the shed to be opened to the same extent on each lift and sufficiently for the entrance of the shuttle, and to remain stationary while the shuttle crosses the warp threads after which the shed closes. The cam track is formed in the face of a disc E which is chain-driven from any suitable part of the loom, a ball bearing F situated in the cam track being secured to a stud G projecting from a pivotal arm H which is connected by an adjustable rod J to an arm K<1> fixed on the shaft carrying the cross arms M for actuating the griffes.
