[Class 86] In a mixing machine comprising a mixing container mounted for rotation about a shaft carried by a tiltable cradle, the shaft 6, Fig. 2, is slidable in a hub 7 integral with the cradle 8, to provide means for altering the height of the container 1 to adjust the mesh between a toothed rack thereon (not shown) and a driving pinion. The lower end of the shaft 6 is screwthreaded and engages a nut 11 provided with a circular shoulder 12 resting on a flange 13 secured by bolts 14 to the cradle 8. In making the adjustment, the bolts 14 are slackened and the nut 11 is rotated. The bolts 14 are subsequently tightened, and the shaft 6 is further secured in the hub 7 by clamping screws 15.
