Class 86 The mixing device of the parent Specification is modified by the provision of adjustment of the gaps between the impeller and the two sets of stationary blades on each side of it. The drive shaft 4a is connected to the impeller shaft 4b through a threaded connection 30, 31, provided with a lock nut 32, so that, by altering the vertical position of the impeller G, the spacing between it and the fixed blades 7 may be adjusted. The inlet blades are carried on a mounting ring 33 screwed into the base piece 34 and locked in position by a set screw 36. Axial adjustment of these blades again determines the spacing between them and the impeller.
