Abstract

592,773. Confining dust on generation. PHILLIPS RUBBER SOLES, Ltd., and EYLES, G. F. May 30, 1945, No. 13566. [Class 8 (ii)] Dust generated by an abrading machine is confined and subsequently removed by connecting a hood-like chamber 6 in which the tools are located with a base chamber which is separated into filter and clean air compartments 4, 5 by filtering medium forming or partly forming the floor, and/or a wall or walls of a drawer 2 which can be withdrawn from the base chamber for the discharge of collected dust, the clean air compartment being directly connected to a fan 11. The filtering medium may be corrugated as well as being perforated.
