Abstract

591,785. Camera obscuras. BATHURST, C. Sept. 29, 1944, No. 18653. [Class 97 (i)] The camera consists of a scanning unit A with field aperture 3a, mirror 4, and lens 7, combined with an observation unit B with means 12 for viewing the image projected by the lens 7 on to a screen by way of a mirror 11, unit A being mounted at 5 on unit B and rotatable thereon, as by operating a handle 5a. In the form shown, the housings of both units are cylindrical, and the screen 15 of semicircular section is situated on a side wall opposite the viewing aperture 12, which is fitted with a resilient hood 13 and protected from stray light by a shield 14. The mirror 11 is supported by a frame 10 depending from the turntable 9 of the scanning unit A, and the angular adjustment of this unit is limited by a pin and arcuate slot device associated with the turntable. The roof 6a of unit B is detachable.
