591,077. Paving. ATKINSON, C. G. April 26, 1945, No. 10554. [Class 107] A paving comprises concrete slabs 1 laid on concrete bearers 2 to which they are interconnected by means of rectangular, half-round or truncated V-section ribs 7, formed on the slabs, and correspondingly shaped holes or grooves 8 in the bearers, or vice versa. The slabs 1 may be laid either parallel to the direction of the path and at right angles to the bearers 2, separate kerbs 3, 4 being constructed, or they may be laid transverse of the direction of the path, the kerbs being cast integrally with the bearers. Each slab may be provided with sockets 19 for lifting keys.
