Abstract
590,869. Felt. BROWN, L. G. April 24, 1945, No. 10307. [Class 42 (ii)] [Also in Group IX] Heat and sound insulating material is composed of a mixture of hair, jute and kapok fibres, combed, carded or otherwise consolidated together to form a sheet or strip and thereafter subjected to a needling process using barbed needles. Preferred proportions are:-hair 50 per cent., jute 25 per cent., kapok 25 per cent. The felted material may be coated or impregnated with a fireproofing liquid, such as a solution of ammonium phosphate, with or without a further treatment with aluminium sulphate.
