[Class 44] In a fastening for attache cases, &c., a keyhole cover-plate 5 and a knob 4 are shaped from a single blank of metal, and are combined with a bolt-locking device. The knob, having an axial split peg 6 which passes into the casing through a thin washer 7, accordingly connects with a circular hole 2e in the bolt 2, and engages an elongated hole 3a in the blocking member 3 disposed closely within the dishing of the bolt, the tips 6c of the peg being spread to secure it in place. Thus the bolt, blocking member, cover-plate and knob can slide together, and the latter three can revolve together in the circular hole 2e. The knob 4 and cover-plate 5 have ears 4a, 5a clinched down over a shape plate 6a which provides the peg 6. The shallow, dish-shaped bolt 2, with a nose 2a, is pierced at 2c for clearance, and has a rigid stop-lug 2d. The blocking member 3 provided with a V-nose 11 has a stop shoulder 12 and a projection 13 which contact the lug 2d to limit movement of the bolt; the projection 13 also coacts with an abutment 14 pressed out of the front plate 1. Within the dishing of the bolt 2 is a spring 141 having two limbs 15, 16 co-operating with the nose 11 of the blocking member 3, with the key-locking mechanism (not shown), and with the casing.
