Abstract
590,423. Scaffolding. AVELING-BARFORD, Ltd., and PENN, O. S. March 14, 1945, No. 6345. [Class 20 (ii)] A portable scaffolding unit consists of a mast formed of four tubular uprights a connected by crosspieces, and two platforms b, c which can slide on the mast and are connected to it by cable and pulley gear d. The upper platform b is in two halves, one on each side of the mast, whilst the lower platform c extends completely across the front of the mast. The two platforms are rigidly connected together, the bottom one c being hinged at c', as shown in the side view Fig. 2, so that it can be folded against the mast for transport purposes. Arms f pivoted to the top of the mast can be used to connect several masts together. The invention can be used in conjunction with the elevator described in Speciflcation 590,424, [Group XXX]
