Abstract

645,151. Tower ladders. ECLIPSE RAIL-TRACK LADDER,CO., Ltd., MAY, C. J., and SPALDING, D. B. Dec. 31, 1947, No, 35276. [Class 20(ii)] A tower ladder comprises telescopic sections rectangular in plan pivotally mounted at 2 on a trailer, so that the telescoped sections can be pivoted to and secured in the vertical and horizontal positions. Brackets 2 on which the ladder is pivoted are carried by a framework of angle members forming part of the trailer chassis, the angle member 8 supporting the sections in the horizontal position. A gate comprising parallel bars 10, 11 connected by uprights is hinged at 14 to the framework and in its upright position secures the ladder in the upright or horizontal position. A latch 15 and lever 21 pivoted at each side of the framework secures the gate in the upright position. A winding handle and a system of ropes and pulleys are provided for the erection of the tower. According to the Provisional Specification the ladder is secured in the vertical or horizontal position by a removable transverse bar bolted to the framework.
