Abstract

590,098. Boring-heads. MARTY, P. April 11, 1945, No. 9053. [Class 83 (iii)] A boring-head providing micrometric adjustment of a tool 9 comprises a rotatable adjusting ring 3 with external graduations 12 co-operating with a fixed mark 13 on a body 1 and having an internal screw-thread 4 engaging a threaded portion at the top of a coupling member 5. The coupling member slides in a shallow groove 6 in the periphery of the body 1 and an extension 7 at the lower end engages a lateral slot 8 in the tool 9. The tool fits in a sloping diametrical slot 9<1> in the body and is secured in the adjusted position by a screw 14. A recess 10 in the body permits the necessary movement of the coupling-member and a cap 11 is fitted over the lower end of the body.
