Abstract
589,484. Drum controllers, switch contacts. HEATON, F., HEATON, F. R., and WOODLEY, A. M. March 30, 1945, No. 8111. [Classes 38 (iii) and 38 (v)] In a contact assembly wherein contacts B, Fig. 9, carried in slots in annular insulating discs A, are engaged by spring contact fingers (not shown), the contacts B fit in slots a<1> in the disc A, being held in the radial direction by their shape, and in the axial direction by a plate F. Two or more discs may be bolted together on a spindle M, with arcing shields G between each. The contacts may be pear-shaped Fig. 3, or T- shaped, Fig. 4, the shank d' of the T fitting in the slot. A renewable contact tip may be screwed on to the crown of the T, Fig. 6 (not shown).
