Abstract

588,698. Blind rollers. EQUIPMENT & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and SWIFT, H. B. March 5, 1945, No. 5416. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XVIII] In destination indicators comprising a display band wound on rollers which are journalled at one end in a spring-pressed telescopic bearing having a friction surface to prevent too free running of the roller, means are provided to reduce the chance of accidental disconnection of the roller from the bearing. The pivot pin B<4> is carried on a tube B' telescoping in a tube A', carried by the frame A, against the pressure ot a spring C. A pin B<2> moves in a slot A<2> in the tube A' to allow of detachment of the roller D, but the slot A' can be closed against full entry of the pin B<2> by a manually rotatable ring E. The ring E has a slot E' which is brought into register with the slot A<2> when removal is desired, and a spring detent may be provided to hold the ring in a non-registering position of the slot E', A<2>.
