Abstract
543,009. Aerial warfare. ROE & CO., Ltd., A. V., and BEARDSHALL, G. Oct. 25, 1940, No. 15701. [Class 9 (ii)] A supporting and release gear for a practice bomb on an aircraft comprises a pivoted hook p which is swung by the loop q of the bomb in assembly of the latter, and locked by the entry of a catch-hook r into an aperture in the hook p. The hook r, which may be the existing hook for the normal bomb, is withdrawn by the usual release gear. The carrier a for the practice bomb is detachably secured on bolts f, g and is fitted with fore-and-aft crutches o, n for steadying the bomb. As shown, the crutch o is vertically adjustable.
