Abstract

682,407. Hose and electric cable reels. RUSHWORTH, D. May 11, 1951 [Feb. 17, 1950], No. 4070/50. Class 99 (ii). A hose or cable D passes into the hollow interior of a drum A or a casing associated with the drum, rotatably mounted on a bracket C and is connected to a supply point by a length of hose, &c. D<SP>2</SP> that is torsionally twisted as the drum rotates to pay out or take up the hose &c. The hose, &c. may be formed with a loop D' inside the drum and may pass through a hollow axle B fixed to the bracket. In a modification, the inner end of the hose is connected inside the drum to a hollow axle rotatable with the drum, and the hose D<SP>1</SP> is connected to the outer end of the axle. Spring means may be provided for rotating the drum and to rewind the hose, &c. Specification 682,401 is referred to.
