Abstract

Relates to methods of moulding artificial teeth (see Group V) in which there is united to a "dentine" body of relatively opaque material an outer layer of translucent material corresponding to the enamel layers of the natural tooth. Reference is made to the use of porcelain, stained glass and plastics, e.g., acrylic resins. The "enamel" layer may be 2-3 parts clear acrylic resin mixed with 1 part of the shaded resin used for the "dentine" body. White stains may be produced by adding zinc oxide or oxyphosphate to the "enamel" moulding mixture. Grooves may be formed in the "dentine" body.
