Abstract

546,461. Indiarubber composition and sheets. INJECTODENT, Ltd., and JOANNIDES, C. Oct. 30, 1940, No. 15858. [Class 70] [Also in Group VI] In re-fitting dentures by covering with a plastic rubber mass, inserting in the mouth for biting on by the patient, and finally vulcanizing, the covering is made in the form of thin sheets which become plastic on heating. An accelerator which causes vulcanization in a shorter time than the original vulcanization of the denture is incorporated. The sheets are formed of rubber plasticized by oxidation or mastication or the use of plasticizers and mixed with guttapercha or balata. The sheets are covered with French chalk and may be separated by cellulosic sheets and are stored, to prevent premature vulcanization, in hermetically-sealed containers, which may be lined with corrugated cardboard, and evacuated or may contain a solid refrigerant such as solid carbon dioxide.
