Abstract

559,208. Vulcanized rubber containing ground solids &c. UNITED STATES RUBBER CO. June 29, 1942, No. 8889. Convention date, July 9, 1941. [Class 70] Solid material, e.g. ground cork, of specific gravity less than 0.5, or vermiculite is mixed with rubber latex &c. which has been heatsensitized and the mix is vulcanized by heat. An example specifies zinc oxide, with accelerators and triethyl trimethylene triamine as heat-sensitizers; and, as stabilizers not affecting the heat sensitivity, potassium or sodium hydroxide, or dimethylamine. The mixture may be packed into moulds, heated to 312 to 320‹F. for about 10 to 15 minutes, removed and oven-dried to form non-porous shoe soles &c.
