Abstract

A dental prosthesis is made of a soluble polymeric plastic or liquid monomer admixed with a comminuted heavy metal compound, the particle size of the compound being sufficiently small to enable the proathesis to be polished satisfactorily and to give desirable radio-opacity and translucency. The material used may be poly-methyl methacrylate mixed to form a dough with 5-20% by weight of barytes having a particle size in the range of 1-30 microns.
