Abstract

588,361. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. UNITED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION. July 21, 1943, No. 11879. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1942. [Class 135] Apparatus for controlling, e.g. the pitch of an aeronautical propeller and including a governor-controlled valve 17, is provided with an accumulator 25 containing an inflatable bag 26 and supplied from the pump 19. Liquid leaks past the loosely-fitting piston valve 30 until the pressure in the conduit 32 reaches a predetermined value, when the valve is opened against the action of a spring 38 and liquid flows freely to the accumulator, and is available for supplying the valve 17 if the normal supply fails. A drain conduit 33 is provided.
