865,830. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. NORMALAIR Ltd. Sep t . 29, 1959 [Oct. 17, 1958], No. 33142/58. Class 135. [Also in Groups VI and XXI] A by-pass valve 13 is incorporated in an aircraft respiratory circuit and permits rapid inflation of a flying suit 11 in an emergency. The valve 13 is supplied by a branch pipe 12 from the main supply 1 and comprises a casing 17, an oxygen inlet 18 and an outlet 19. If a sudden drop in pressure occurs in the line 14 in Fig. 1 then the capsule 26 expands, turns the lever 30 against the spring 32 and allows the pressure of oxygen in the chamber 20 to open the valve 23 so that the oxygen enters the chamber 21 and acts on a diaphragm 25 which turns the lever 37 and opens a main valve 24 against a spring 44. Oxygen then passes directly from the inlet 18 to the outlet 19 and hence to the suit. Oxygen is exhausted from the chamber 21 past an adjustable bleed screw 29. Specification 785,371 is referred to.
