[Classes 65 (ii) and 89 (i)] The blades of shears, scissors, or like cutting tools are pivoted on a floating fulcrum comprising two relativelyadjustable parts each of which carries an element of a ratchet device adapted to co-operate to lock the two parts in an adjusted position. The pivot shown comprises parts A, B making threaded engagement with one another for adjusting the distance between the flanges. A spring strip 12 on the part B engages teeth 6 on the part A. A cap C may be snapped over the part B.
