Abstract

1378210 Hand shears J WISS & SONS CO 14 Aug 1972 [17 Jan 1972] 37823/72 Heading B4B [Also in Division E2] A tool, e.g. hand shears, having two pivotably co-operating members 11, 12 comprises a pivot stud 40 having threaded portions 40a, 40b and an intermediate portion 40c including a spacing element 39 and nuts 41, 42 for holding the members 11, 12 on the stud 40. The element 39 enters a recess 47 in at least one member 11 of the pair and engages the other member 12 to define a spacing adjustable by screw-threaded engagement of the stud 40 and member 11. The nut 42 acts on the member 12 through a washer 46, e.g. of p.t.f.e.-coated steel, and wrench flats 43 on the stud 40 facilitate adjustment.
