[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] The end winding or lead-out wire or tape of an electrical coil such as a telephone relay, transformer or receiver, is joined direct to the body of a terminal tag by fuse welding as described in the parent Specification, i.e., by placing the wire and tag in contact and passing a current through the wire and tag of sufficient intensity to cause fusion and so interrupt the circuit, whereby a joint in the form of a globule is formed at the point of contact and simultaneously with the interruption of the circuit caused by the fusion. The ends of the copper winding wire from the spool 1 or lead-out wires pass out through tubular copper tags 5 secured in the spool checks 2, and after flattening the ends of the tags, current is passed through the wire and tag to cause fusion thereof with the formation of a globule 7 and interruption of the current. The globules which form the joints also seal the tubes against entry of moisture. The wire termination 4 may be similarly united to the rim of an eyelet type of tag 8, or to the outer end of a pin tag 9, or the inner end of a pin tag 10.
