585,638. Air conditioning and ventilating apparatus. BRANDT, P., and THERMALAIR, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1944, No. 20901. [Class 137] In a ventilating and air-conditioning unit comprising a passage c, extending between air entry and discharge openings d and e in ‹a 'casing a and containing an axial flow fan f, heat exchangers m and n and a cell p in which the air is washed by water sprays and filtered by screens u, the exchangers m and n are of the kind described in Specification 584,033, [Group XIII], and the casing a contains a cell o beneath the passage c enclosing the necessary motor machinery and pipe connections. As shown, in the cell o is a motor h driving a pair of fans f, a water tank q, and a pump r for supplying water therefrom to spray nozzles s, the water being heated or cooled through a tubular coil t. The removable filters u may comprise glass silk pads in metal frames and may remove water drops, as well as dust, from the air The casing walls may be of sound or heat insulating material, and more than one unit may be contained therein.
