[Class 3 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXVII and XXXVIII] In a display mechanism having a rotary member 1 adapted to be brought into a selected position, the member 1 has a cam groove 2 which engages studs carried by levers A-E which operate a plurality of spring-sets 10. The rotatory member 1 may be driven by the stepby-step mechanism described in Specification 583,715, [Group XXIV], and as shown, can take up 32 different positions, thereby setting the spring-sets 10 in a like number of different combinations as the studs move from the high parts 3 to the low parts 4 of the cam grooves; additionally the member 1 may manually be moved clockwise by a half-stop from each setting without moving the levers. The levers A-E are so pivoted at 5-9 that equal movement is imparted to the spring-sets by the insulating collars 12. Solutions for 16, 15, 14 and 10 position cams operating four levers are also described. The centre-contacts of the spring-sets 10 are connected together and to the step-by-step mechanism, whilst the side-contacts are connected in various combinations to a source of supply. The member 1 is brought to rest when no centre-contact engages a current-carrying side-contact.
