Abstract

584,576. Soldering, uniting by fusion. MABLEY & KALLENBORN, Ltd., and ROSS, D. Jan. 4, 1945, No. 388. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXIII] A support for a number of work-supporting vices for use during soldering or welding &c. operations, consists of a stand c bearing a bedplate a provided with two or more guideways b in which vices of known type are free to slide and pivot in order to take up any position. The guideways b may be arranged in any desired angular relationship. The back portion of the fixed jaw e of each vice is of angular formation so that adjacent vices may be brought close together. A fitting for facilitating vertical angular adjustment of the vices consists of an arm m, Fig. 8, to which is pivoted an adjustable arm n provided with a similar guideway in which a vice o may be clamped. The vices may be provided with a calibrated disc, to enable accurate orientation of the vices to be made. The bed-plate a may be covered with heat-resistant material between the guideways.
