Abstract

584,038. Boxes, KUNZLE, C. Nov. 2, 1944, No. 21469. [Class 18] A lid b hinged integrally with the body a of a box is held closed by the interengagement of parts d, e on the front of the lid and body. A resilient strip f, provided on the inside of the box, raises the lid when the interengaging parts are released by pressing the front wall inwards. The lid may be provided with a flap having a hole d which engages with a projection e formed on the front wall of the body. Alternatively the body may be provided with a double front so that the flap of the lid is inserted between the two walls and engages with the inner wall. A slot is cut in the outer wall through which a projection secured to the inner wall protrudes and to which pressure is applied to release the lid. The inner front wall may be provided with a flap, an inner portion of which is cut away to allow the wall to be pressed inwardly.
