Abstract

582,912. Textile drafting apparatus. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. Sept. 28, 1944, No. 18590. [Class 120 (ii)] Drafting apparatus for textile fibres, of the kind in which the fibres pass between two endless belts 20 which are supported by means of transverse rollers 19, comprises a cradle constituted by two independent side plates 16 which are mounted on the belt - supporting rollers 19, and a twopronged tensor 11, the side plates 16 being maintained in position by engagement with slots 15 in the upper prong of the tensor, the prongs of which are located within the respective belts, in the usual way. The forward edge of each side plate is recessed at 17, the upper edge of the recess taking into a slot 15 in the upper tensor prong 11 to maintain the plate against lateral displacement. The lower portion of the forward edge of each plate 16 seats on the lower prong 11 of the tensor. The prongs of the tensor are each provided with raised portions 14, slotted at 15, so that it is immaterial from which side of the apparatus the tensor is inserted.
