[Class 49] In a method for the manufacture of bakers' flours as described in the parent Specification, the concentrate incorporated with a larger bulk of flour contains not only aneurin but also one or more of the adjuvants: vitamins other than aneurin, e.g., nicotinic acid or its amide, riboflavin, Vitamin C; non-metallic compounds of said vitamins; salts of iron, copper or cobalt; inorganic iodides not included in the said salts; organic compounds of metals, e.g., a compound of iron with a vitamin including aneurin; finely divided metal, e.g., ferrum redactum. The aneurin and additional adjuvant may be made into a single solution or suspension for introduction into the absorbate or may be introduced into the absorbate in separate suspensions or solutions. Flour from worm 11 and a solution of aneurin and the additional adjuvant from vessel 15 are fed into a mixing vessel 12, the liquid mixture produced flows into the homogenizer 19 and thence to the vessel 21 provided with a stirrer 22, the mixture from the vessel 21 is spray dried in the hot chamber 24, the resulting finely-divided solid is conducted along worm 33 and thereafter mixed in suitable dietetic proportion with a bulk of flour. Additional protection against contact between an adjuvant and the main bulk of flour is obtained by application of an overcoating of flour to particles of the concentrate, the concentrate being allowed to descend as a curtain while a spray of a suspension of flour is projected thereon.
