Abstract

578,360. Endless track for vehicles. HORNSBY, H. Nov. 24, 1944, No. 23423. [Class 79 (i)] The hinge pins of an endless track are kept in position by one or two bolts disposed at one or both ends of the pin in a lug or lugs provided for the purpose so that the head of the bolt obstructs axial movement of the pin. When only one bolt is used, other means are provided for preventing axial movement of the pin away from the bolt, e.g. the pin may be provided with an enlarged head or the hole' for receiving one end of the pin may be blanked off. As shown in Fig. 2, the adjacent plates 3 each have a pair of parallel cheeks 4 and a nose 7 and are hinged together by a pin 8 which is fully floating. The cheeks 4 are provided with lugs 9 through which are passed bolts 10 so that their heads prevent axial movement of the pin 8.
