Abstract

578,252. Pen and pocket knives. MURFIN, W. H. Sept. 25, 1944, No. 18230. [Class 30] A pen or pocket knife consists of two scales 6 integrally united along one edge of each by a strip 7 of the same material, such as a plastic of the synthetic resin type or metal, and has one blade 11 pivoted on a rivet 12, the other end of the handle being closed by a continuation 8 of the strip 7 which is provided with a recess 9 to engage one end of the spring 10, the other end coacting with the tang of the blade 11. A lug 13 may be provided on the spring to engage a recess 14 in the base wall of the handle. In a modification two blades are fitted each end of the spring engaging the tang of one blade.
