Abstract

774,767. Scissors. MAEDER, F. Oct. 21, 1955. No. 30211/55 Class 30. Scissors comprise transversely concave blades of steel plate and non-metallic handles, the blades being formed with a pressed-out rib through which the pivot pin passes and which merges into the tang and each blade having a slight concave curvature in the direction of its longitudinal axis and a twist about that axis. As shown; the cutting blades 1 and tangs 2 are formed transversely concave and are each provided with a longitudinal rib 4 by pressing, the ribs being formed with countersunk and threaded apertures, respectively, for the pivot pin 3. Synthetic resin handles 5 are moulded round the tangs 2 and each blade is given a longitudinal concave curvature and a progressively increasing twist from the pivot to the point. Apertures 6 parallel to the cutting edges produce a resilient cutting action.
