577,607. Cycle frames. SUN CYCLE & FITTINGS CO., Ltd., and PARKES, F. C. Feb. 11, 1944, No. 2531. [Class 136 (iii)] The saddle tube 1 of a bicycle frame extends from the upper ends of the down tubes 5 in a straight line to a position along the front tube 2 removed from the bottom bracket 9 and at least one compression tube 11 extends between the bottom bracket'and a position intermediate the ends of the saddle tube. In the construction described two compression tubes 11 are united to lugs or sockets 12 positioned on either side of the bottom bracket. At their top end the tubes 11 are united to a common lug or bracket 10 which is positioned at a distance from the bottom bracket equal to one-third to one-quarter the length of the saddle tube 1. The lug 8 may be positioned along the front tube from the bottom bracket a distance approximately equal to one-quarter the length of the front tube.
