Abstract

A mixture of vinyl chloride and trichloroethylene containing 1 to 5 per cent of trichloroethylene is polymerized, e.g. by heating in a closed system in the presence of water and a catalyst, e.g. a mixture of ammonium persulphate and sodium bisulphite. The product is soluble in a mixture of toluene and methyl ethyl ketone or acetone.
