Abstract
577,261. Slidable doors. PARSONS, J. May 16, 1944, No. 9363. [Class 20 (iii)] A slidable door a, of the kind suspended from an inclined rail b, has a horizontal guide rail e beneath the lower edge of sufficient depth to accommodate the vertical movement of the door as it travels along the top rail. As shown the door has a projection which slides in the slotted rail e. The rail may be of inverted tee sections, the projection f sliding against the web of the tee. A spring buffer g for initiating the return movement is attached to the rear edge of the door and is compressed on meeting an abutment h, secured to the wall. Any suitable securing means may be used to hold the door in an open position, such as a lever actuated bolt, let into the front edge of the door and engaging on the bar b.
