[Class 146 (i)] In a loose-leaf binder the sheets f are provided with one or more projecting parts g, Figs. 9 and 15, of substantially dovetail shape, by means of which the sheets are secured to the binder which comprises a spine member formed of three parts b, c, e, Fig. 8, or an apertured tubular member h, Fig. 14, and a co-operating slide member which is moved to engage and clamp the projections g when these are inserted into the apertures of the spine. The slide d, Fig. 8, is of the same cross-section as the outer member b of the spine, and it is fitted with an inner member d, the rear web part d<1> of which is brought into engagement with the projections g after these are inserted into the spine with the lower ends of the projections resting on the inner end of a member e which is spaced from the inner end of the member c of the spine. The slide d is prevented by a tape t from becoming detached from the spine. In Fig. 14, the spine h and slide k are of tubular form and fit telescopically, and are each provided with apertures adapted to receive the projections g. The slide k is then moved relatively to the spine so as to clamp the sheets f. The spine and slide may be made of cardboard, metal, or of plastic material, and' a cover-plate may be secured to the spine or slide.
