[Class 20 (iv] A roof is formed from precast reinforced concrete beams 1 having recesses along their top face into which are fitted the sides of bowed slabs 3. Grouting mortar 4 is placed above the slabs to form a flat surface and cords are placed in the recesses and withdrawn before the mortar has fully set so as to form channels 5 for any water seeping through the joints. The upper face of the rib of the beam is recessed longitudinally for drainage purposes.
